Post Box at High Ackworth
High Ackworth residents will know that about 18 months ago the Post Office closed and the post box was relocated by Royal Mail to the Village Green. Residents have raised their concerns about the dangers of crossing the road to get to the post box in its new position.
The Parish Council has had discussions with a representative from Royal Mail and we are told that this is the only site where the Royal Mail van can stop safely to empty the post box.
We realise the views may differ about whether the new position is acceptabe to residents of High Ackworth. Before we take this matter any further with the post office we would like to know your views.

Pumpkin Growing Event
At Christmas the children in the village were invited to grow their own pumpkins. In all 26 children got involved and the packs were sent out. In October 2010 we will be inviting the children to the Community Centre to display their pumpkins. Maybe they'll be carved ready for halloween or maybe they'll be used for cooking!
