Play Areas

There are three play areas in the village: Carr BridgeLow Ackworth and Brackenhill.

Carr Bridge

The play area at Carr Bridge was refurbished in 2012 and named after Roy Hirst, who had served the community as a Parish Councillor for over 40 years. This is a well used play area and a great addition to the already wonderful facilities at Carr Bridge playing field.

Low Ackworth

Low Ackworth play area on Station Road has recently been upgraded. It now includes a timber climbing frame complete with ladder, nets, monkey bars, a fireman's pole and wobbly bridge. A see-saw, dragonfly and snail sculptures and a new basketball hoop are among other additions. It was officially opened in March 2017, funded by Wakefield Council and carried out with the support of Ackworth Parish Council.
